My ATC weld setting (30apr 2017) , Using 6013 from hardware shop, DC (suggested gives a better result) 90amps (reccomended 60-90) , setp :
Welding Joint settings I found to be good

Weld Description
3mm Metal grates. Can be hard to see puddle as the arc blows off the sides and creates a bright flame.Move as normal. Settings: Rod 2.54mm Amps 63, gives good weld with little undercut
.08mm steel , Amps: <35
but join, 5mm steel, 90amps, 3.2mm rod, slow weave over joint to make wide weld
corner weld, 5mm steel, 120amp, 3.24mm rod, 6013
Triple intersection. AC, 120amps 6013

Jodi from Tips and Tricks: This is what I dont like about 6013, a lot of time ,6013, if your not careful you can get a worm bed in the middle. A bead on one side and a bead in the other and worm bit of slag in the middle. A better choice is a 6011, much more digging, much more penertrating rod. Looks more rough and more splatter but a better weld with penetration.

But joins , 6013, 100amps, 3.2mm, starting to penetrate
2.5 mm flat bar, 3mm angle iron 100amps,

ELECTRODES
6010 arc welding rods are most commonly used for welding root passes in pipe and even for the fill passes on pipelines An aggressive, digging rod that is DC only. This is a digging penetrating rod and is designed for putting the root bead on the inside of a piece of pipe. Both 6010 and 6011 are good electrodes. In my opinion, they are the only rods to tack with. They strike very easily and leave little slag to chip off. They also are very good when you need full penetration. They are a prime choice for welding decking, an application in which you must penetrate through the gauge metal into the joist or beam. 6011 arc welding rods are the kissing cousin of 6010 and are designed to be used on AC 6013 arc welding rods are the farmers welding rod and the welding rod most people use first when learning to weld BIG GUNS 7018 stick welding electrode is used for pipe welding and structural steel welding and a all kinds of repair welding. A low-hydrogen, usually DC, all-position electrode used when quality is an issue or for hard-to-weld metals. Can also be used with AC .The 7018 is the backbone of structural welding. A 7018 rod literally should be dragged across the metal when welding. Shops, field welders, and home hobbyists often do not store 7018 rods properly. Being a low-hydrogen rod, 7018 requires an environment in which no moisture is allowed to get into the flux. This is achieved by using a rod oven. 7024 stick rod is used to lay down a heap of weld fast...a really hot and big puddle to get things done quick if its flat or horizontal...and run sweet on AC. NOT RECOMMENDED by weldingtipsandtricks.com, says he would prefer 7018.
